Why Do Kids Need Nature?

Growing up is hard. Kids today are having to find their way in a fast paced world that is ever advancing. They are forced to adapt at an ever increasing rate. This can be confusing.

Things in the woods just make sense. I have heard this line from many people who have lived lives connected to the land. Our species evolved to comprehend the natural world, it is in our blood. Our senses are designed to take it in, our mind is designed to solve its problems.

Kids today have very few opportunities to interact with nature. Observe maybe, but not truely interact. That is the opportunity we offer at NWJ.

Our camps will get kids connected with nature.

RECON Kids Camp focuses on bushcraft/outdoor living/survival skills & nature study.

Outdoor Engineers will focus on problem solving and building as kids explore and learn from the natural environment.
